Determination of Parameters of Cauer Filters

By determining the necessary degrees for Butterworth-, Tschebyscheff-, and Cauerfilters as function of passband-, stopband attenuation, and stopband one has to take an integer value for the degree n. This makes it possible to improve one of the input parameters. Using the following menues you can input the degree n and two of the three input parameters. As result you get the third parameter. By decreasing the degree you may decrease the requirements on the filter and determine the corresponding parameter.

Determination of stopband frequency:

Degree = (degree n of filter)
alpha_p=dB (maximal attenuation in passband)
alpha_s=dB (minimal attenuation in stopband)
Computation of stopband frequency:

Determination of maximal passband attenuation:

Degree = (degree n of filter)
alpha_s=dB (minimal attenuation in stopband)
omega_s= (start of stopband)
Computation of passband attenuation: dB

Determination of minimal stopband attenuation:

Degree = (degree n of filter)
alpha_p=dB (maximal attenuation in passband)
omega_s= (start of stopband)
Computation of stopband attenuation: dB
